Home Pest control has performed exceptionally well this year in what was an otherwise decidedly flat home and garden market. DIY, hardware, and garden centre retailers all report positive sales growth, with the best performers having taken full advantage of the in-store videos and merchandising that STV now offers. Do read on to learn more about the latest trends and developments of the UK market. But first, please allow me to say thank you to the many retailers who now stock STV’s product ranges. Your support has been amazing and it has been a real pleasure to work with you throughout this past year. Thank you! Thanks too to the team here at STV who have consistently gone the extra mile to get work done and to meet the needs of our customers as promised. Their effort has resulted in a 97% On Time In Full delivery record for the past 12 months – an outstanding achievement, and one that I know is appreciated by all our customers, not least for the boost it gives in-season sales and profitability. STV’s supply lines grow ever shorter, and this year 50% of all products supplied were produced either here at STV, or within the EU. One key driver of this is our long-term strategy to build volume sales around faster-selling consumable rodent and insect control products. Overall sales volumes of The Big Cheese and Zero In® ranges grew by 20% With the new Autumn and Winter seasons just ahead and retail range reviews now upon us, I’m pleased to be welcoming you to another edition of STV’s annual catalogue, packed full of innovation and ideas that will help to grow your pest control business.

A similar emphasis on consumable Plant Pest control products has also delivered tremendous growth, in particular for slug control. As I write, Slugs Away® sales volumes are up five-fold and still climbing. So yes, it’s definitely been a slug year! New for 2025 is an extensive range of indoor plant remedies

targeting the ever-growing demand for houseplants. There are also brand refreshes and new products under The Big Cheese with the launch of Free To Go® and Mouse Out welfare-friendly controls. And with sales of bed bug control now exceeding half a million pieces a year, we are adding some exciting value-added variants under the Zero In® and Ultra Power marks. We continue to drive towards a more sustainable product future, reducing plastics and packaging waste, and moving away from single-use products. For 2025 we have introduced concentrate refills for many insecticide sprays and launched new reusable and durable products as well as a new replacement parts service to allow consumers to extend the life of their STV products. All in all, there’s lots to discuss and every reason to believe that together we can continue to grow profitable sales of Home Pest control products through 2025 and beyond.
